The fact remains that living in a damp climate means keeping rainwater at bay and that is fundamentally important to maintaining the health of your property. Internal and external walls will probably show signs of damp, stain or may become slimy also white tide marks and perhaps green mould at joints may be evident too.

This could cause puddles to the ground . Other possibility would be damp smell pervading and mould on the interior plasterwork or brown plaster are signs too..

The most likely cause is simply down to blocked gutters. Sometimes a blocked hopper or downpipe water to back up and overflow. Other causes of clocked gutters would be poorly aligned gutters set to an insufficient fall.
